Everyone knows the whole “budgeting will help you keep track of your finances”, but too many people completely blow off creating a budget and simply “wing it.” Creating a budget and sticking to it can help keep you on track with your spending, so your money doesn’t own you. A budget will help you tell your money where it needs to go. Something I find very important is creating a section in your budget to pay on any student loans, even if you currently don’t have to pay on them. Saving that up will help you in the long run! Use a budget to help you identify any areas where you may spend too much whether it’s entertainment, food, clothing, etc. Identifying your problem areas and setting a specified spending amount can help you save even more for an emergency fund or large purchase you plan to make.
