My daughters have always teased me that I buy supplies instead of going grocery shopping. I always have the necessary items to prepare a meal for one to twenty people on hand and can most of the time have a large meal ready in 30 minutes or less. I keep the basics on hand like flour, sugar and pastas. I also purchase items that are on sale and keep at least 3 cans of many vegetables and proteins in my pantry.

It also helps that I do my own canning and freezing. I buy bulk and then process items so they are ready for quick meals. The dry beans I purchase I can in half pints. I also purchase chicken in 40 pounds batches and pressure can that in pint jars, it is ready in an instant for any maela I want.

It takes practice and developing a mindset that I can cook no matter how tired I am. Also I have learned that if I am real tired instead of ordering take out, I rest for 15 minutes then I can prepare my own food with not worries.
