I am now a proud parent of a high school graduate:)) I really wanted my son to have a way to get around the campus and to outside social and Tonio and Bae.jpgschool events. So, I started 2 years prior with "Operation Water Jug". I collected a water cooler jug that was being thrown away by my neighbor. I made a commitment to put all of my loose change and $1 dollar bills only inside of the jug for two years. I wanted to save for a down payment on a gently used car for him. After 2 years, I took the change and dollar bills to the local grocery store change counter machine. To my surprise and excitement, I had collected $2,000 to put as a down payment on ,my son's 2000 Mercedes SL that I found at a local dealer (total price tag was $10K + my down payment of $2K= just $8K to finance at a low rate). I felt really savvy and financially smart:))
