When I decided to attend Willamette University, I had no idea how I was going to pay for tuition. I began applying for many scholarships and decided that I was going to work while going to school in order to not take out any loans. I then heard about the IDA account they offered at my school. I qualified for the program and began saving money. Now I am going to school without having to work to pay for my tuition. I did have to take a loan out, but the amount was so small that hopefully if I work good during the summer I can pay it off. I feel like everyone can achieve my goal of not taking large loans to pay for tuition. We just have to look and find great opportunities to help us overcome financial burdens.
